RF microneedling · Benicia, CA

Pixel8 RF microneedling in Benicia, CA

RF microneedling with the Pixel8 sends radiofrequency heat through fine needles to rebuild collagen, softening acne scars, large pores, stretch marks and rough texture. At our Benicia studio, a nurse practitioner plans your series. Many patients see a change after one session, and most need three to six for the full result.

How RF microneedling works

Plain microneedling makes tiny channels in the skin, and the skin rebuilds collagen as it repairs them. RF microneedling adds a second step. The Pixel8, made by Rohrer Aesthetics, pushes fine needles to a set depth and then releases bipolar radiofrequency heat at the tips, below the surface where scars and loose collagen sit.

That depth control is the point. The Pixel8 can treat anywhere from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm deep, so your provider can work shallow over fine lines and deeper over an old acne scar in the same session. The surface takes less of a beating than it would with a laser that has to pass through it, which is why RF microneedling is a common choice for scars and texture on a wide range of skin tones.

RF microneedling or regular microneedling?

Regular microneedling with PRP works at the surface and uses your own plasma to support the skin's repair. It suits fine lines, dullness and mild texture, with less recovery. Pixel8 adds heat at depth, so it does more for acne scars, enlarged pores and stretch marks. Janeeh will usually point you to Pixel8 when the problem is structural, and to PRP microneedling when it is mostly surface.

Who Pixel8 RF microneedling suits

Pixel8 tends to suit you if:

  • You have acne scars, enlarged pores or rough texture that facials have not changed
  • You have stretch marks you want to soften
  • You want firmer, smoother skin and can plan for a few days of looking a little pink over a series
  • Lasers have been ruled out for your skin, or you prefer a treatment with less surface heat

Your RF microneedling appointment, step by step

  1. Consultation

Janeeh examines your scars or texture in good light and decides whether Pixel8, a laser, or PRP microneedling fits your skin. She sets how many sessions to plan for.

  2. Treatment

A medical-grade numbing cream goes on first. During treatment, a Zimmer chiller blows cold air over your skin, so most patients mainly feel pressure and warmth. Your provider passes the handpiece over each area, adjusting depth as she goes.

  3. Aftercare

Expect redness, like a mild sunburn, and possible small bruises.

  4. Follow-up

Depending on your skin, the full result may take three to six sessions.

Pricing

How RF microneedling pricing works

The cost of Pixel8 RF microneedling depends on the area, how deep your provider needs to go, and how many sessions your skin needs. A single area of acne scarring is a smaller plan than full face and neck. You get the total for your series at your consultation.

Memberships

The VIP membership is $149 a month, all of it treatment credit you can put toward your sessions. Unused credit rolls over while your membership stays active, which suits a series spread over a few months.

RF microneedling questions

Does RF microneedling hurt?

RF microneedling with the Pixel8 is uncomfortable for a few seconds at a time, and most patients handle it well. A medical-grade numbing cream goes on before treatment, and a Zimmer chiller blows cold air on your skin throughout. You mostly feel pressure and warmth, and your provider can adjust depth if an area is sensitive.

What is the downtime after RF microneedling?

RF microneedling usually means redness, similar to a mild sunburn, and some patients get small bruises. Many people go back to their normal routine quickly and cover the pink with mineral makeup once their provider allows it. Plan a series around events, since skin looks its best a week or two after.

How many RF microneedling sessions do I need?

Most patients need three to six Pixel8 RF microneedling sessions for the full result, depending on their skin and what they are treating. Many notice improvement after the first session. Deep acne scars sit at the higher end of that range, and texture or pores often at the lower end. Janeeh sets your plan at consultation.

Is RF microneedling good for acne scars?

Yes, RF microneedling is one of the most common treatments for acne scars. The Pixel8 delivers heat below the surface where scar tissue sits, prompting new collagen that makes scars look shallower over a series. Most scars improve rather than disappear, and active breakouts need to settle before treatment starts.

What is the difference between RF microneedling and XERF?

RF microneedling delivers radiofrequency heat through fine needles, which targets texture, pores, acne scars and stretch marks. XERF skin tightening heats through the skin's surface with no needles, and it targets looseness on the jawline, neck and body. Many patients with both concerns plan the two treatments across the same season.

RF microneedling near Vallejo and Martinez

Patients come to our Southampton Road studio from Vallejo, a short drive east on I-780, and from Martinez, just across the Benicia-Martinez Bridge. A Pixel8 series means several visits, so a studio close to home makes the series easier to finish.
