How a Radiesse butt lift works
Radiesse is made of tiny calcium hydroxylapatite spheres suspended in a gel. Injected under the skin, the gel gives immediate support, and the spheres prompt your body to build its own collagen around them over the following weeks. For the buttocks, Radiesse is usually diluted with saline and spread across a wider area. The goal is better shape and firmer, smoother skin, with a result that reads as your own shape, refined.
Janeeh places the product where it changes your proportions the most: often the upper buttock for lift, the sides for a rounder outline, and areas of crepey or dimpled skin for texture.
What a Radiesse butt lift will not do
A Radiesse butt lift is a refinement. It will not give you the size of a surgical augmentation or a fat transfer, and patients who want a dramatic change are better served by a plastic surgeon. It works best when there is mild to moderate volume loss or flattening, and when the goal is a better shape.
Who a Radiesse butt lift suits
A Radiesse butt lift tends to suit you if:
- You have mild to moderate volume loss or flattening, often after weight loss or with age
- You want better shape, symmetry or lift without surgery or implants
- You want smoother skin texture on the buttocks
- You are not ready for implants or fat transfer, or do not want the recovery

Radiesse butt lift questions
What is a Radiesse butt lift?
A Radiesse butt lift is a non-surgical treatment that injects diluted Radiesse into the buttocks to improve shape, lift and skin texture. Radiesse gives immediate support, then prompts your body to build its own collagen over the following weeks. It is an off-label use of an FDA-approved product, and results vary between patients.
Is a Radiesse butt lift FDA approved?
Radiesse is FDA approved for facial wrinkles and folds, the backs of the hands, the jawline and chest lines, but using it on the buttocks is off-label. Off-label use is legal and common in aesthetic medicine. It means the FDA has not reviewed studies for this area, so Janeeh explains the risks at your consultation.
How long does a Radiesse butt lift last?
Results from a Radiesse butt lift depend on how much product is used and how your body builds collagen. Because buttock use is off-label, there is no FDA-reviewed figure for how long it lasts. Janeeh will give you a realistic range at your consultation, and many patients plan touch-ups to keep the shape.
Is a Radiesse butt lift the same as a BBL?
A Radiesse butt lift is not the same as a Brazilian butt lift. A BBL is surgery that moves your own fat into the buttocks, with anesthesia and weeks of recovery. A Radiesse butt lift uses injections in the studio with minimal downtime, and the change is subtler: better shape and firmer skin, with little change in size.
What are the side effects of a Radiesse butt lift?
The most common side effects of a Radiesse butt lift are swelling, tenderness and bruising where the product was placed, and they typically settle quickly. Less often, small firm bumps can form under the skin. Janeeh reviews all the risks, including rare ones, at your consultation and tells you what to watch for afterward.
